For World Book Day, Biffa wanted to turn recycling education into a story children would actually want to read. Whitney the Wasteater and the Wrong Bite follows a sweet, picky little monster who loves recycling - but only when things end up in the right bin. Told through rhyming verse and bold character illustrations, the book transforms everyday recycling habits into a bedtime adventure, with all proceeds going to international charity WasteAid.

Working closely with the design and studio teams, I helped bring Whitney's world to life through AI-generated illustration. A traditional illustrator would have put the project out of reach entirely - the client's budget simply couldn't support it. AI changed that, while also giving us the ability to iterate rapidly, testing visual directions and character expressions in days rather than weeks. By carefully crafting and refining prompts throughout, we maintained a consistent look and feel from cover to cover, ensuring Whitney felt like herself on every single page.
